Many homeschool families are headed back to school in the coming weeks, if you haven’t started up already. Our family started this week with the usual mix of excitement, tiredness, and getting back on a routine.
Sometimes it’s so easy to focus on the day-to-day that we forget that we are playing the long game of nurturing and training our kids to become women and men of God, using their intellect, skills, and gifts to serve God and the church, pursue godliness, be productive and responsible, and one day be godly parents of their own.

That’s roughly how much time you have before you launch your child into the world. You’ll still have influence and opportunity to pour into their life after they leave for college. But right now, these sometimes hard days, are some of the best opportunities you will have to build family relationships and point them toward Christ.
Remember that the Lord is with you!
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. – Psalm 28:7
Be encouraged! The hard work you are doing today with God’s help, can have life-long and even eternal consequences. Lean on the Lord each day, partner with your spouse, find people to encourage you on the journey, and have fun this school year.
Trust the Lord, He will give you everything you need to make this a great year.
You got this!
